“Once one has perceived the body as a material entity, it is possible to access the immense truth of nothingness that exists within oneself.”
— Masaki Iwana
Giving intensity to this nothingness is dance.
Whether it is movement, physical postures or breathing, these gatherings are an opportunity to gently explore and open the body and mind. The intention is for each* to come into more intimate connection with themselves*.
All events and workshops related to the CARE installation take place inside the church of San Severo al Pendino (Via Dumo 286, Naples). They are free of charge.

Silvia’s approach is inclusive and playful. In the yoga workshop, a series of simple postures will be offered in order to awaken the spine to its full potential. The practice will conclude with deep relaxation.
“The superpower of breathing” with Silvia Di Rienzo
Yogic breathing invites observation of the self. After a small pustural practice we will dwell on the breath in order to direct and lengthen it. The practice concludes with deep relaxation.
“Plasma Yoga – from posture to flow” with DISCOllettivo
We begin with the different body positions we will be in. Holding the body positon we observe the contact, breath, weight, gaze and everything we have to do in the body to maintain the position. By being static while we are moving inwardly. Eventually we use inner movement to achieve the flow of body movement.
This is a friendly, physical practice based on listening and the desire to catch the fleeting moment with awareness and make it into creation and poetry. The path that is traced in the session traverses the body, mind, and soul as a journey through time. From listening to oneself, one’s posture to overcoming one’s limitations, those of the mind and identity. At moments eclipsing the underlying discipline we follow a flow that restores power and sovereignty to each.
“Breathing and intuition: inspired by something I aspire to something” with Valeria Apicella
The breath harmonizes with the movement of life as the wave breaking makes the rock dance as it breaks and becomes stardust. We breathe together. As reflections decrease and concentration increases we become as big as the universe. There is no more stomach, no more head and no more self, there is nothing. Time dilates. One becomes breathing.
If you find emptiness then you can go further and develop a language. “Everyone wishes to dance something that belongs to his inner landscape.” (Masaki Iwana) How to bring this inside out? Through openness, giving, relating to the audience, and adhering to oneself; Inspired by some haiku, poetic verses from Japanese culture, which by their simplicity evoke an immediate suggestion by touching the strings of feeling, we will let the body follow its own tendency and intuition, and translate that evocation onto another code.
